Alongside his acclaimed solo projects and playing saxophone in Ghost-Note, recent years have seen Sly5thAve tour with UK pianist Alfa Mist, perform at SXSW Austin, take the stage with New York rapper Marlon Craft, and arrange and conduct for Questlove and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He famously brought the music of Dr Dre to life with a 30-piece orchestra for 5, 000 people at LA’s Grand Performances series - a perfect example of his ability to merge hip-hop energy with orchestral sophistication.
A Grammy Award-winning horn player, Sly5thAve’s collaborations include work with Quantic, Jamie Leeming, Steven Bamidele and Alina Bzhezhinska, as well as icons Prince, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight. Endorsed by tastemakers from Jarobi White (A Tribe Called Quest) and Gilles Peterson to NPR and DownBeat Magazine, his reputation spans both jazz and hip-hop circles.
